IAMRA currently has quite a few dogs in paid boarding kennels with the daily meter running that need a foster home.
There are also some death-row dogs we would like to save, but we need your help.

Please make a donation  to help us save more malamute lives! The homeless furries depend on YOU!
Please help them to have a chance at the life they deserve! Thank you.

Please help our homeless Malamutes!
The button below will take you to Pay Pal where you can make a secure donation to help IAMRA Malamutes!

Thank Woooooo!

IAMRA IS A 501c3 CHARITY!

Please understand that malamutes often look different in person than in the pictures -
it isn't always possible for us to get a good quality photo of each dog.
Personality should be the number one concern when choosing a malamute companion -
please fill out the adoption information form and come meet some of our personalities!
Please help us support our Sanctuary Sweethearts, dogs that because of age or condition
are not available for adoption, but really need an extra helping paw so we can continue
to care for them. Can you sponsor a Sanctuary Sweetheart?

Spay/Neuter, Monthly, and Microchip sponsors help us defray the cost of dogs in rescue - we spend on average more than $750 per dog, with adoption fees making up only a part of that.

DAKOTA - Sanctuary Sweetheart (not available for adoption)

DAKOTA  is  is our IAMRA mascot. He has shown us, time and again, that we are his family, and with all of us he will have the forever home he has dreamed of.  We will care for him always, with the help of his generous sponsors.

Dakota's Sponsors: 1. In memory of Lobo, a dear friend.  2. Many thanks to PJ and the BigDogs!  3. Wooos to Gloria G and family! 4. Ozzie Erlichman and his non-furry parents, Rachel and Marc

MERCY  - Sanctuary Sweetheart (not available for adoption)

Mercy is a sweet mature longcoated girl of about 10+ years old. She was out of time in a WV shelter. Poor Mercy has not had the best life - she arrived with badly infected ears :( The infections left her deaf, and now Mercy is losing her sight too, and has developed laryngeal paralysis, so she is a sanctuary sweetheart, so she can live in the home that she is used to and comfortable in.

Mercy's Sponsors: 1. The Tikalsky pack 2. Judy and Terry and IAMRA alum Buddy (at the Bridge).  3. Tom and Leighanne Vorel, in loving memory of Rudy.

Mercy is in sanctuary at Vicky's

2

BABE  - Sanctuary Sweetheart (not available for adoption)

Poor Babe, it has been many many years since she has had any decent care. Her human was old and infirm and unable to care for her - he went to a nursing home, and Babe was sent to a shelter. The wonderful folks at the shelter called us and asked us to help. Babe was badly matted and had to be shaved, also, her nails were so overgrown, she has been unable to walk properly for a long time :( She is sick and arthritic, we are hoping to make her feel much better, and enjoy her twilight time.

Babe's Sponsors: 1. Marc, Alice, Igloo & Tundra Rumaner  2. In honor of Basa and Gracie

Babe is in sanctuary at Vicky's

DINAH - Sanctuary Sweetheart (not available for adoption)                                    May 2009

Dinah was out of time at a downstate pound. Over the year she has been with us, her physical condition has deteriorated. First it was a tumor removal, then recurrent bladder issues - and now poor Dinah has rather severe arthritis in her hips and spine. We of course will continue to do everything we can to keep this sweet, 9 or 10 year old girl doing her best.

Dinah's sponsors: 1. Hugs to PJ and the BigDogs!  2. Lori and Denis, in honor of Lexi and in memory of Bixby

Dinah is in sanctuary at Nancy's

PETE                              October 2009

Pete is a pistol! This big handsome 3-4 year old boy was turned into a shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. He is rowdy and strong, but very sweet. He does fine with female dogs - but can be pushy with them over food. He would do very well with an active experienced malamute person!

Adoption Pending!

She is housebroken and well mannered, and would be a great companion!

This handsome fellow was out of time at an area shelter. He is strong and an escape artist, but seems to be a very sweet boy! He is good with people that understand malamutes - but he can be a real button pusher, and is dominant. He has done well with easy female dogs. He would love an active malamute experienced home and family to call his own.

TUNDRA and CHEYENNE      APRIL  2010

Tundra and Cheyenne are a wonderful pair of mature mals looking for a great home. They were adopted from IAMRA many years ago when they were young, but their owners have fallen on hard times and are unable to care for them any longer. Tundra is 10, and Cheyenne is 9. Tundra is more of a mellow fellow, and Cheyenne still plays like a puppy. Both are housebroken and know basic commands. It would be great if these two furries could find a home together for their twilight.

Mama and her TEN puppies came to us from a high kill shelter in Missouri. The babies are sooo cute. They were likely born around Memorial Day.

Dogs at area shelters:

BEWARE!! There are many 'rescues' that are nothing more than glorified puppy brokers! Be sure that ANY  animal you adopt is fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, and all necessary shots and tests. Reputable rescues include all this, and more!  You don't want to fall victim to 'puppies for profit' from a non-legitimate rescue!

For a list of shelter dogs near you, visit www.petfinder.com

Please check out Illinois Valley Animal Rescue - they have  malamute mixes available! And many other furries too! Won't you consider giving one (or more!) a home?
